Well the septic tank is pumped and the blockage cleared, and things work (honour to the gods of earth and water). And we finally have a closing date to sign on refianced mortgage (which took forever because when we bought house, we had no 911 grid/physical address, just a Rt. number, and then they gave us a number, and well, it might not be the same house). And we found our our cell phones are not working because the house alarm went off last night when we were at motel (cats set it off), and no call came to our ON phones. The phone company when called pointed out that their phones only last a year, duh, any idjit should know that, so we have to drive 40 miles to get new phones. Which will only last a year. I hate planned obsolescence.

On the good side, FIRST watermelon tonight, ahhhh, summer is here! And dinner at home. And sleep in own bed. And go see movie on Saturday after maintenance on Entwife's car is done (dealership where she bought her civic is right across from nice Cinemark Legacy where we saw the extended LOTR). So maybe Shrek 2. Maybe Troy again (I want to go, she is a bit dubious though she in effect promised me she would so we could discuss plot and character not just material culture.) (BTW, she read the top 25 yahoo movie reviews--she likes to read and analyze them not trust them--and not a single one, professional reviewer or not, mentioned material culture or the walls or the museum quality. I am not surprised.) Hah.

And ya know, I HATE televisions in public places. We just learned that this little cofffeeshop downtown, the ONLY funky place (well OK the only funky place we'll go in town) in town has put in a [horrible awful explective deleted] television!! We hang out there regularly to grade papers in peace and meet with our scholarship support group. The public tv hanging off the wall are all over. Airports for years. Student Services put the blasted things up in our uni's academic buildings and runs a stupid loop on them. Doctor's offices. Restaurants. The one we were in last night was running the tv AND a music on intercom or whatever at the same time. Grumble. The hotel lobby where they put out the continental breakfasts had one running 24/7. WHY? If they take the glass teat away, will Amerikans fall over and die? *massive pout*
