When we work on lovely Saturdays, we often bring the two leash/harness trained dogs in with us. They lounge in Entwife's office in between walks around campus.

Today Entife announced the following: Dogs LOVE bacon! And pound cake!

(We bought in bacon and tomato sandwiches and yes poundcake for lunch. She ate her lunch, hunched over, with a golden nose stuck under her arm sniffing suggestively!).

Nougat found a freshly fertilized/manured space to roll in on the last wealk.

And when Pippin hesitated about the poundcake, he offered to eat it for her which, of course, meant that she gobbled it right up.

It's very good that our animals are *not* spoiler!

Small update--some of us were talking about the Texas comptroller's office denying a Unitarian church non-profit status on grounds they weren't a religion because they didn't worship a god--just came out that after more review, the Comptroller has reversed her ruling and given the Unitarian church the religious status. She's one of the few Texas politicians (sigh yes she's Republican, but we don't have a lot of choice down here these days) of whom I actually approve--so I'm happy that she reversed herself.

Well a day that begins with the first daffodil of the year and ends with chocolate ice cream (Haagen-Dazs) cannot be all bad even if interspersed between is the news that one's Pippin puppy dog has a specific form of mange that (thank heavens) is not contagious (mother dogs pass on only to new born puppies), but that will require three dips, each costing about $70 (bathing fee plus drug fee). *looks for warranty on dog then remembers she was a dumped dog*

Also in between lots of WORK. Bleah. Monday. Still, daffodil and chocolate ice cream is also part of life.
