All are invited to play in my roundrobin!
In my anthropology and fan discourse a few posts ago, some brilliant comment by (
nancyblue), but the whole thread is brilliant, sparked a thought.
Why not pick a text and have a bunch of different aca-fen from all sorts of disciplines talk abut how they would analyze it from the perspective of their discipline, i.e. what sort of methods, assumptions, approaches, theories, etc. would come into play.
People liked it, so let's do it. (Feel free to comment, anyone; I'm interested in the academic disciplinary issues, but this post isn't restricted to only aca-fen).
I thought a while about what to pick (didn't want to assign novels!) (didn't want to avoid images!), and then thought, huh, what about these two which I gave my grad students to think about and discuss at the start of the term in my media literacies class.
